LED Display Project Delivery in Iran for a Display Manufacturer
The Challenge:
A Chinese LED display manufacturer signed a supply contract with an Iranian advertising media company for a batch of indoor and outdoor LED displays, to be installed at multiple commercial advertising locations across Tehran. The cargo included LED modules, cabinets, control systems, and supporting cables — approximately one full truckload. LED displays are a classic fragile, high-value, vibration-sensitive category: module panels are prone to crushing, cabinets are prone to impact damage, and control systems are sensitive to moisture. Any single point of damage could prevent an entire screen from lighting up, and on-site replacement costs are extremely high. The client originally planned to ship by sea, but port congestion made sailing schedules unreliable. The vibration, moisture, and impact risks from multiple lifting and transloading operations during sea freight — plus open-air storage at ports — made the client extremely concerned about cargo safety. The installation schedule for the contracted advertising locations could not be postponed. Any delay would mean not only penalty fees, but also missing the peak advertising season.
Our Solution:
The client ultimately chose our Iran TIR full-truckload service, booking an exclusive truck to ship all displays and supporting equipment. We arranged pickup from the factory, transported the goods to our self-operated supervised warehouse at Khorgos Port for export customs clearance, and then moved the cargo by TIR truck directly to Iran — one truck, all the way through. Given the fragile nature of LED displays, we made three targeted arrangements: First, custom wooden crates with shock-absorbing foam lining, with dividers installed between module panels, and "Fragile" and "Keep Dry" labels on the outer boxes, sealed throughout transit. Second, control systems and cables were packed in separate crates to avoid crushing from mixed loading with cabinets. Third, we confirmed Iran's import tariff policies and required documentation for electronic display equipment imports in advance, assisting the client in preparing the certificate of origin, commercial invoice, packing list, and product technical specifications. The route departed via Khorgos, transited Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, entered Iran, and then delivered directly to the project warehouse in Tehran, where unloading, handover, and appearance inspection were completed.
The Results:
-
45 days from Khorgos to Tehran — arriving before the contractually agreed installation schedule, allowing on-site installation to start as planned.
-
Full truckload, direct delivery throughout — no consolidation, no transloading. LED modules, cabinets, and control systems remained sealed the entire way, with zero damage and zero loss, 100% packaging integrity, and the lighting test passed on the first attempt upon arrival.
-
Iran import customs clearance included. The shipment was declared as a formal electronic display equipment import. The client did not need to engage a separate Iranian customs broker, avoiding inspection delays caused by HS code classification disputes or document discrepancies.
-
Moisture-proof and shock-proof packaging performed as designed. Upon arrival, there was no moisture damage, no panel scratches, and no cabinet deformation. The client passed acceptance inspection on the first attempt.
-
The client immediately incorporated this TIR channel into its standard logistics plan for Iran projects, and subsequent advertising location projects have followed the same model.
Client Testimonial:
"With displays, the biggest fear is that something gets broken, damp, or bumped on the way. Sea freight is cheaper, but with all the lifting and open-air storage, we just couldn't feel safe. TIR full truckload goes all the way in one truck, sealed throughout, wooden crates with shock-absorbing lining — it passed the lighting test straight out of the box. Advertising installation schedules can't afford delays. If the transit time is locked in, that's when we dare to take the order."
