Automotive Parts — Bypassing the Strait of Hormuz Bottleneck
The Challenge: An auto parts distributor in Isfahan needed emergency replenishment stock. Their regular sea shipments were stuck due to port congestion and routing uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz. Production at their facility was at risk of halting within three weeks.
The Solution: We arranged a TIR road shipment from Kashgar through Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan into Iran, using our alternative southern corridor route. This bypassed both the Hormuz bottleneck and any potential Kazakh transit issues. The cargo was a single full truckload of components, loaded under seal in Kashgar and driven directly to Isfahan without consolidation stops .
The Result:
-
40 days from Kashgar to Isfahan, with the cargo arriving with over a week to spare before production would have been interrupted.
-
Zero damage or loss on a shipment containing sensitive electronic components.
-
Client now uses our TIR service for all emergency replenishment orders.
Client Takeaway: “When the sea route became unreliable, we needed a plan B that actually worked. The road corridor wasn’t just a backup — it became our primary channel for urgent parts.”
